Digital Citizenship is taught throughout the year, take a moment and look at a free program from Common Sense Education, with this program I am working to help students cultivate the 21st century skills they need now and in the future. We are creating posters which will be displayed throughout our school giving suggestions on how to be a proper digital citizen. www.commonsense.org

About Us. Our main focus in Reedy Creek's Computer Lab is developing math and reading skills using Edgenuity, Dream Box ,Learning A-Z, and Pearson. Microsoft Office products as well as Google are introduced along with a course on Digital Citizenship for all grades.
Kindergarten will begin with maneuvering the mouse, finding the address bar and entering a web address along with learning about the key placement on keyboard. Learning sites are Starfall, Abcya,and Dreambox,and Edgenuity. First Grade begins with understanding computer terms, locating hardware and learning how a keyboard enables them to give instruction to the CPU. Reinforcement of math and reading skills through Edgenuity. Second Grade begins the year with an introduction of PowerPoint and Google Slides, here they will create a slideshow titled "Fall Season." They also will create a document using a Word Document, later in the year Publisher is introduced where they will create a flyer. Math and reading is reinforced through Edgenuity. Third Grade will expand their knowledge of Power Point and Google Slides by developing a slideshow on the Solar System. Popplet is used as a mind map. Math and reading is reinforced through Edgenuity. Computer Science continuation. Fourth Grade will create a PowerPoint or Google Slide on Character Education. A Word document is created on their adventures during Spring Break,later a checklist will be created in Publisher. Computer Science continues. Reinforce math and reading. Research for classroom projects. Fifth Grade is a continuation of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Publisher and Google. Computer Science with the opportunity of developing their own game. Research for classroom projects, plus building math and reading skills through Edgenuity. |
